Paging & SMS

When the Coolamon, Junee, Lockhart, Urana and Wagga Wagga Rural Fire Districts joined to form the Riverina Zone, another resource was made available - paging from the Coolamon/Junee Rural Fire District.

Associated with paging is the ability to send text messages to mobile phones (SMS). Whilst SMS messaging isn’t used as a primary call out medium, it is an efficient and quick way to notify Brigades and Volunteers of fires and incidents.

Currently we have a total of 800 volunteer firefighters on this system. If you would like to be included on your Brigade's SMS Call Out list, please contact your Brigade Captain.

Telephones, Pagers and Radio Calls are still the primary method of notifying Brigades of incidents.
